During the semester we had to complete numerous activities for professional development. The following are a few things that was done through the semester to help us do more than just be in the classroom, but be involved in the true experiance of a teacher.

We went to Eudora for a Greenbush Technology Confrence for Teachers. This is ment to show teachers different ways to use technology in the classroom to better interact with the students. Our CAPS Teacher Education presentation was called "Timely Tools for the 21st Century Teacher". This presentation talked about using video games and different internet applications to engage the student and make them more excited to learn as they are using what they use at home, in school.

The CAPS Teacher Education morning class went to Liberty View Elementary School and guided the little people through the human body. This was ment for the students to learn how the body works and things they can do to make it work better and healthier. We did this in conjunction the CAPS Medicine students. I personally guided a group of about 12 through the body with another T.E.D student (Mariah) and it was a really cool experiance. It made me want to teach elementary for a little bit!

Our CAPS class went to LKMS to help the 6th grade students with their science fair projects. We were assigned a table and students came and sat down with us as we guided them to a true workable project for their schools science fair. It was really cool to see the students having to think and really get into the projects.

At Lakewood Elementary School I had to complete duty assignments. This was ment to have us do something that teachers have to do that isn't in the classroom. I was assigned car line duty. This meant that I would wave the cars to come around the circle and then help the children out of the car. After that was over I walked inside and would either help a teacher with classroom preparation or help put books away in the library.
